Lindsey Pollak is a best selling author, speaker and consultant specializing in Gen Y (that’s us!) career and workplace issues. She’s the author of fabulous career advice books like “Getting from College to Career: 90 Things to do Before You Join the Real World” and “A Savvy Gal’s Guide to Online Networking.” Her advice and opinions have been featured everywhere from the New York Times to NPR, and she is the Career Contributor to ABC News on Campus. She will be here at TCNJ to deliver top notch advice on how to land a job after gradation (yes, even in this economy).

You definitely do NOT want to miss this event, and it will be an especially helpful and inspiring talk for graduating seniors. Even if you aren’t graduating, Lindsey’s advice is ALWAYS relevant. Event will begin at 6:00 p.m. in the Library Auditorium. Lindsey’s discussion will be followed by a Q & A session and a book signing! Hope to see you there!

Whew! Ed had a busy semester. From traveling to Manhattan for a life-changing career conference to bringing our favorite magazine editors to TCNJ, it was a great semester to be an Edster! “One on One with Megan McCafferty” is almost here! Come to the Library Auditorium at 7 p.m. tomorrow (Tuesday) to hear Megan McCafferty talk about her books, magazines and life as a writer in New Jersey.

Megan is a Jersey girl, a former magazine editor and author of the Jessica Darling (Sloppy Firsts) series. She also recently contributed to Declare Yourself, a compilation of essays from over 50 famed Americans encouraging young people to vote, edited by America Ferrera. She is promoting the paperback release of the fourth novel in her series, Fourth Comings (the book will be on sale at the event courtesy of the TCNJ bookstore). Megan will read from her book, sign copies and answer questions about magazines, publishing, writing and anything else! Megan is a fabulous speaker and will undoubtedly be a wealth of information, so please come out!

Ed’s off to a busy start this semester! Join us this Sunday, Sept. 21 at 5p.m. in Holman Hall for our second meeting of the semester. Then, come eat ice cream (yummy!) at Coldstone (Route 1) with us on Tuesday, Sept. 23 at 7p.m. This is a fundraiser for Ed so bring your friends! Finally, end your week with Ed’s first big event of the semester, when Toby Grace, editor of Out in New Jersey, comes to the Library Auditorium on Friday, Sept. 26 at 7p.m to talk about working on a magazine catered specifically to the LGBT community. Don’t forget to bring your questions about the magazine business, interning, writing for a specific audience and anything else!
